About Ria
Food has always been my love language. Born and raised in Paris in a bustling family of nine, I grew up surrounded by the irresistible aromas of home-cooked meals. My Algerian parents brought their farm-to-table traditions into our kitchen, making every meal a celebration of flavor, family, and togetherness.
The Plot Twist: Kitchen Duty at Fourteen
The real plot twist came when I was 14: after years of heroic kitchen duty, one evening, my mom sat my sisters and me down and declared, “I retire from cooking. From now on, you girls can organize yourselves and make your own meals.” We laughed it off, thinking she was joking. But the next day, there was no lunch waiting for us, and by dinner, we realized she meant business.
Our first attempts? Let’s just say, if baguettes and fries were a food group, we’d have been nutritionists. But through trial, error, and a few charred pans, we learned to plan, prep, and (eventually) impress.
From Family Kitchen to World Travels
At 20, my passion for food took me beyond our family kitchen. I started dating a French chef and began working alongside him in some of Paris’s finest restaurants. For three years, we traveled and cooked in Italy, New York, and beyond, catering private events and weddings. I learned the art of fine dining, the thrill of recreating restaurant dishes at home, and the joy of bringing people together around a table.
